Got to lead a trip of 90 or so students to Kronborg and Helsingør last weekend. Kronborg is one of the most impressive castles (and fortress) in Northern Europe - so impressive that when it was fully built in the 1500’s by King Fredrick II, the literal height of its Renaissance magnificence, word of its glory reached olde England. Once word got ‘round to the appropriate circles, a Mr. Bill Shakespeare decided to stage his play HAMLET at Kronborg. It was a beautiful, cold day. Keeping 90 American students on schedule is not a possibility. And I had the same, friendly, 71 year old bus driver/retired air force pilot/local historian at the helm as I did on student arrival day.
