Nelson came up from Paris to Copenhagen in October. We walked around and he tried to buy a shirt. Then he found a grease stain and bought another. Then I took a picture of my bike. It was a very fun weekend.

Autumn in Copenhagen. These are from a while ago; it is clearly winter now.

J-Dag, or the day Tuborg’s Christmas beer is forced down the throats of the impressionable danish drinking culture through subtle corporate holiday fetishism. It was the weirdest thing I’ve seen. Weirdest thing with widespread mainstream acceptance (a taxi driver wished me a ‘happy J-Dag!’). Tuborg has officially done what Hallmark and Apple have failed to do for years: explicitly create a holiday, ostensibly a public holiday since workers and students all relieve themselves of their ordinary obligations, celebrating the annual release of a seasonal product. What day of the year will Apple pick to be “iPad day,” celebrating their generous annual offering of a thinner, lighter tablet to the public?
My real gripe: not blonde, not a woman = did not get any free beer. Happy J-Dag.
The Surfing Henchmen played at KB18 last week. thesurfinghenchmen.com Super fun surf/metal/instrumental show!
